Stakeholders for Tennis Program

I'm not sure what my project will be yet but I have decided between the tennis program or an undecided program for a company (for-profit).

For the Tennis the stakeholders would be the coaches and the players. Players benefit as they would have statistics to show them how they're progressing and coaches benefit for the same reasons.  The school indirectly benefits if the program helps improve team performance.

  1. In the tennis project, would the fans also be stakeholders? Might they be interested in the stats, or would they be too technical?

  2. Great question. I believe the fans for college tennis are just there to watch support the team regardless of stats. Unless they knew how the game works, I don't think it's to important for them unless they're gambling/betting.

  3. Good to know - and what's your relation to the tennis program? Player? Fan? Coach? Alumni?

  5. As a response to your video, I'm starting to rethink the tennis stats, as it requires a good eye and time to do this. I mean people are paid to do this for professionals. But for college players, who would stay 2-4 hours just watching a game and following the individual player. Along with that matches start at the same time. By that I mean 6 players play singles at the same time (so unless we pay 6 people to follow each player it won't work). Probably only 1 or 2 players will have there stats recorded.

  6. Not sure what red-shirting means. Had to look it up on wikipedia :-) but now I understand your involvement - thanks. Is there anybody recording any stats for the tennis team at the moment? When you say 6 players play singles at the same time - is that part of a tournament? Just practise?

Imagine for a moment that I don't know anything about how college tennis works (which is true, since I don't) and lay it all our for me ... :-)
